Color is just a pigment. I do not see how different pigment applied to the ceramic will cause it to be more fragile than any other colored bezel. Just does not make sense. Rolex is just drumming up the hype.

It has been frustrating all the time with so called ADs in most countries I have visited. Given up hope of buying any Rolexes from the ADs . I believe they are flipping these watches to the grey markets for more profits .

Plenty floating (most high demand and popular models) in the secondary grey market resellers but none at the AD. It only proves that the AD sells them backdoor or thru their own runners then it appears in the windows of these second hand shops as "new and unworn". I am confident some ADs are also co-owners or silent partners in such second hand shops.

This RUclips video feels like it was written by a Rolex AD. I recently encountered some hens teeth at the Rolex AD, who stated that they were easier to find than an actual popular Rolex watch for sale! Of course other than some models that sell poorly, which he would gladly sell me. In the early 2000's I had bought 2 President models in white and yellow gold and received a 15% discount on each back then. Times have changed, haven't they! I deal with many high net worth individuals, and most wear cheap watches or watches that they purchased 20 or more years ago. These days, given the state of the world, luxury watches are in my opinion, a diminishing priority. And, given that they continue to go up in price while wages remain more or less stagnant, less and less individuals are inclined to pay the entrance fee.

A lot like buying a new Ferrari. Too many hoops to jump through. Quite honestly I’d rather have a Grand Seiko.

Although sometimes I find that we are in an endless loop - some AD (that only sell Rolex) said they prefer to sell to existing customers or I can start by buying classic models. But if you have nothing to offer to me, how do I even become your customer? I'm glad I have a good SA that takes care of everything and will not sugarcoat anything. If some models are doable, he will tell you so you will keep your hopes up instead of waiting for the Daytona or GMT that is impossible to come by.

My AD handles a “waitlist” no longer than one year for every model. They only accept a certain amount of orders per year and when they have enough they stop registering new people requesting a certain model. So it’s not impossible to get, but very unlikely because the amount of requests is pretty high depending on the model/configuration. I managed to get one, had to pay 10% in advance to show “commitment” and will get the call in about 2-12 months. It’s not that hard, just have to be patient and find the right AD, because some of them are scum and some are actually really good and honest.

I think flippers ruin the market. I did just get my first rolex from an AD TT sea dweller and i love it didn't have to wait long either. To be honest it was not on the list of watches i wanted but after seeing it in person its awesome and the pictures dont do it justice

got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on amzwatch 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.

The problem starts when ppl think of it as an investment as a profit to make money. If you think of it as an object to enjoy and later pass it on as. A family heirloom, then the issue of "profit" will not arise. Flipping spoils it for true collectors. I'm actually very happy that the situation is not so good now with value dropping. Let the flippers and back door hoarders suffer.

⚠️ as a jeweler and watch a fishing auto I can tell you a precious metal watch is a terrible idea, steel is so much harder and more durable. Your watch will last years and years without terrible dings, scratches and dents, go with steel and I like how they talk about Rolex, but show a whole bunch of Omega! 😂 omega is a far superior watch for people that know horology and they’re not in the status . For example the new aqua has better specs than the explorer III, the Omega planet ocean 600 as far superior to Rolex dive watches! ⚠️

My thoughts on this topic? I think it is absolutely absurd to have to play these games in the hope of being chosen to buy a $15,000 stainless steel watch. Forming a phony (one-way) friendship with an AD. Visiting the dealership often to make small talk and present gifts. Buying other jewelry you don't need or want hoping it will move you up on the wait list. Submitting to questioning and background investigations. Absolutely insane. What other consumer relationship doe any of us have where we would even consider putting up with this?
